Bulb humidification The RELDAIR system can successfully be used for making bulbs ready for skinning. For the benefit of easy skinning, the outer layer should be thoroughly soaked, without the bulb itself becoming too wet. In the case of immersion (a cheap means of investment, but very labour intensive) this is not very successful because only the surface of the bulbs become wet and are thus not properly soaked. With steaming this is, however, successfully achieved, the only problem being that the temperature becomes too high and must be cooled by means of fogging. Furthermore, the cost of steaming is quite high. With a RELDAIR system 3 to 4 hours less steaming is required, so that within a year the installation has paid for itself because the temperature in the bulbs can be kept under control through fogging. Compared to steam the advantage here is that the investment and energy consumption are lower and humidity and temperature can also be better regulated.Mushrooms Mushrooms benefit considerably from the RELDAIR Fog System, as demonstrated by the experiences of an increasing number of growers. Steam is no longer needed, allowing a more stable climate and therefore a quicker growing response. This saves energy! In addition, a cooling effect can be achieved of no less than 8° C, reducing the required cooling capacity.Other benefits of the system are reduced scale formation, heavier and better quality mushrooms, and improved growth on the sides of the beds.The system is also energy-efficient. Per duct, 1 to 2 nozzles can be fitted. The nozzles are fitted with a non-drip valve to help prevent dripping after use.Maintenance consists of checking the oil level and the water filter and the usual regular maintenance for plunger pumps.

RELDAIR Fog-Systems were invented to meet the demand for a solid and reliable system to control the relative humidity. The result was a very high pressure (120 BAR/1,800 p.s.i.) system that makes fine mist- droplets less than 10 micron- thereby controlling the relative humidity without wetting the plants. The first RELDAIR Fog-Systems were installed in greenhouses in the Netherlands in 1988 and they are still functioning well. Since then a lot of progressive and international operating growers and researchers, like for example Anthura b.v., Nunhem Seeds, Koninklijke Visser, several research institutes and others like the Royal Botanical Gardens and the Keukenhof, have chosen for our system.When the inventor of the RELDAIR Fog-Systems took over the firm in 1991, he adapted the system to fulfil another need of growers, i.e. the reduction of temperature in their greenhouses without loss of humidity. This adaptation led to an extension of the market to poultry- and turkey farms, tree nurseries and greenhouses in tropical and subtropical climates (Canary Islands, North Africa, Portugal, Japan, Greece, Cyprus etc.). RELDAIR Fog-Systems also developed a custom designed system for storage rooms (above as well as under 0°C). RELDAIR has concluded a successful experiment in stench suppression in co-operation with Ecosorb and has installed several systems in the recycling business and other areas that need a cheap solution to the problem of stench. Currently, RELDAIR is doing research in dust suppression.Whatever the market, the aim is to make a solid and reliable system that is custom designed, doesn't need a lot of maintenance and is easy to install. This aim, combined with a customer friendly policy, has led to a fast increase in sales during the last few years, in the Netherlands as well as abroad. Although this has led to an increase in employees and a move to new premises, we still make it our business to keep communication lines with customers as short as possible in order to give them tailor-made advice.For publicity we mainly give demonstrations and lectures and we attend shows like the NTV in Amsterdam, the Hortex, IPM Essen and the VIV.
