Tree Nursery There are a lot of moments during the chain at which the chance of losing weight due to dehydration are considerable: after digging up in the field, during storage, in the shed, in the sorting area and in the planting area. This is no longer a problem thanks to the RELDAIR Fog System.The RELDAIR Fog System is the only system that works at a pressure of 120 Bar and which uses specially designed atomisers which produce a very fine and above all constant fog. This fog enters the air directly and does not descend onto the plants. Because any vitality that is lost due to dehydration can scarcely be compensated by immersion or re-humidifying, the RELDAIR Fog System therefore contributes to the retention of quality in the sales chain of bare-rooted plants. Our system also offers opportunities for improvement in shed storage for other plant groups, such as forest and hedging plants and roses whereby large quantities of plants pass through the bare-rooted chain.Other advantages of storage under fog are: • the shed climate is controlled continuously and automatically, making it independent of floor type or climatic conditions outside; • storage under fog is less labour intensive than storage in pits; • it offers more operational flexibility, for example if a planned shipment to the client is suddenly cancelled and replanting is impossible.

RELDAIR Fog-Systems were invented to meet the demand for a solid and reliable system to control the relative humidity. The result was a very high pressure (120 BAR/1,800 p.s.i.) system that makes fine mist- droplets less than 10 micron- thereby controlling the relative humidity without wetting the plants. The first RELDAIR Fog-Systems were installed in greenhouses in the Netherlands in 1988 and they are still functioning well. Since then a lot of progressive and international operating growers and researchers, like for example Anthura b.v., Nunhem Seeds, Koninklijke Visser, several research institutes and others like the Royal Botanical Gardens and the Keukenhof, have chosen for our system.When the inventor of the RELDAIR Fog-Systems took over the firm in 1991, he adapted the system to fulfil another need of growers, i.e. the reduction of temperature in their greenhouses without loss of humidity. This adaptation led to an extension of the market to poultry- and turkey farms, tree nurseries and greenhouses in tropical and subtropical climates (Canary Islands, North Africa, Portugal, Japan, Greece, Cyprus etc.).RELDAIR Fog-Systems also developed a custom designed system for storage rooms (above as well as under 0°C). RELDAIR has concluded a successful experiment in stench suppression in co-operation with Ecosorb and has installed several systems in the recycling business and other areas that need a cheap solution to the problem of stench. Currently, RELDAIR is doing research in dust suppression.Whatever the market, the aim is to make a solid and reliable system that is custom designed, doesn't need a lot of maintenance and is easy to install. This aim, combined with a customer friendly policy, has led to a fast increase in sales during the last few years, in the Netherlands as well as abroad. Although this has led to an increase in employees and a move to new premises, we still make it our business to keep communication lines with customers as short as possible in order to give them tailor-made advice.For publicity we mainly give demonstrations and lectures and we attend shows like the NTV in Amsterdam, the Hortex, IPM Essen and the VIV. Our system has been sold to all parts of the globe, from Iceland to South-America and from Australia to Russia.
