Storage: preventing dehydration

Potatoes, carrots, flower bulbs, chicory roots: more and more products are being kept in cold storage.

Despite the usual high level of relative humidity in storage rooms, many crops tend to dehydrate during storage. Due to condensation on the cooling element and the circulation of air caused by fans, moisture is extracted from the produce. Moisture is also lost when the doors of the storage rooms are opened. It is therefore essential to prevent the produce from dehydrating in cold storage.

In the past decade RELDAIR has gained a lot of experience in building its systems into storage rooms. The result being a bigger product range in order to meet the specific demands for storage. For example: it is possible to supply tracing to prevent pipes from freezing. We also manufacture special connectors in order to fix nozzles underneath the drip tray or in front of the cooler.
